Things are out of kilter.  Our very way of life is being threatened.  Our political life is being threatened, and falling apart.  Socialism versus capitalism?  Tax cuts versus government spending?  It’s kind of important that I speak my mind here.  For my child and grandchildren.  For the very future of our country.

And lies.  From our leaders.  One leader says, “I am not a crook.”  Another says, “Read my lips. No new taxes.”  Still another even lies before a Grand Jury – “I did not have sex with that woman....”  The direction of this Lunar will throw you a bit.  It doesn’t have to do with lies told, but, rather, with why a lie wasn’t told?  And this is some important stuff here.  It’s crucial that you understand.

Look, Johnny Carson stayed clear of politics.  He told political jokes, but he was just as apt to crack one about a Democrat, as he was a Republican or anyone else for that matter.  But we rarely, if ever, caught a glimpse of his true political beliefs.  His feeling was, why alienate half of his audience?

I have avoided political discussion on The Lunar Report for the very same reason.  I am afraid I can avoid it no longer.  Things today are going too wrong for me to ignore the important stuff.  

So –

If the man would spend two weeks, lying to the media about Tweeter hacking and such, why in the hell would Anthony Weiner not just come right out and tell Chris Wallace, Wolfe Blitzer and the like, during his on-air confessions, that no, that WASN’T his jockey short photo?  I mean, come on!  The man lied about everything else, right?  Why erect a wall around that one photo?  Why junk the whole thing up with doubt?  Why come up short on one more lie?  Just lie again.  What’s the difference?  Am I right?

What kind of leaders are we electing these days?  Geeze.  If you can’t even lie good, then.... well, we are doomed.
